Choose to Believe

1058250_cloudy_day_22And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35 NKJV

Was this answer satisfactory to Mary? Or did it raise more questions in her mind? Did this really explain how it would happen? Well, technically no.

Mary faced a crossroads. Would she continue to question or would she take it in on faith? Mary chose to believe.

Are there things about God you can’t comprehend? That’s where we apply faith and trust God to work it out, just as Mary did.

Lord, thank you for being able to handle our questioning. Thank you for your patience as we decide to have faith and believe you. In Jesus’ precious name we pray Amen.

One Response to Choose to Believe

Elizabeth, I’ve always wondered about the ponderings of Mary’s heart. What awesome…and scary…thoughts she must have had. Hers had to be the biggest faith of all time! Thanks for the reminder to choose faith over comprehension. Blessings…
