Elizabeth Marks, disciple of Jesus Christ, founder of ThinkOnIt Bible Ministries Inc, has a heart for encouraging others with God's Word. She has led home-based and workplace small groups for close to a decade. She is always looking for ways to stir up love and good deeds from other believers in Christ.


My Story:

In 2000, as a new believer I was waiting for my go-to order at a favorite Mexican restaurant.  While waiting, I noticed a young father with his 4 year old son.   The father was saying to his son, “Yeah I know nobody loves me either.”  My heart sank as I heard his words.  Oh how devastating the hopelessness this man felt and passed on to his son! 


I silently began to pray for godly influence to come into his life and tell him Jesus loved him.  As a prayed, I felt the Holy Spirit applying pressure to get me to be that person.   I wanted to tell the man he was loved and Jesus had loved him so much He died for him.  But something held me back.  I didn’t do it.  The father and young boy got their food and left.  I continued praying for someone to reach them along their path. 


An amazing thing happened.  The father and boy returned.  It was like God was giving me another chance to share His marvelous love with someone who obviously needed it. I wish I could say I took the opportunity to talk with that father, but sadly I didn’t.   My heart sank as I felt I let God and that father down. 


I believe this defining moment was preparation for the start of my ministry to others.  Since then God has gracious worked through me to encourage others with His Word.  He has given me a writing ministry, a small group and a workplace ministry all geared towards encouraging and equipping others with God’s Word.
